Locality:
Summit of Mt. Haupu, on North facing ridge East of Summit.
Plant Description:
Shrub, branches contouring steep slope. Flowers red, hairs on calyx. Calyx light green. Leaves dk green above, lighter below. New leaves lighter green. Bark white-grey. Hairs on underside of leaf, calyx and top of leaf on veins.

Metrosideros-Dicranopteris Shrubland.
