Plant Description:
Herb 1.5 m tall. Inflorescences lateral, ray florets yellow, 5, disc florets orange brown. Local on leeward (W) side of plateau, edge of pali, endemic.
Habitat:
Low, wet elfin cloud forest of Metrosideros spp., Cheirodendron, & Pelea spp.
Associated Species:
Trees covered by bryophytes, linterspersed with low shrubland of Metrosideros, Myrsine, and Vacciniu m, and open boggy areas with native herbs (Oreobolus, Dichan thelium, Viola) highly invaded by weedy Juncus planifolius.
