Limahuli Valley. 60 degree slope with Northeast exposure.
Plant Description:
Tree to 30 ft. Trunk diameter @ 18 inches, spread approx. 15 ft. with flowers and fruit; 3 seedlings, 4 saplings, 8 matu re adults. Rats eat the flesh from the fruits before many ca n ripen, also falling rocks and aggressive alien vegetation.
Habitat:
Degraded mixed mesophytic forest.
Associated Species:
Growing in association with Alyxia, Psychotr ia, Metrosideros, Cyanea, Hibiscus st. john, Pleomele, Diosp yros, Schefflera, Psidium, Aleurites, and Cordyline.
