Shrub 2.5 m tall, tops of longest stems twining, latex white. Fruits green ripening purple. Common, indigenous. Transect 4. Samoan name: nau.
Secondary forest reverting to montane wet forest on deep brown soil.
with Cocos, Pandanus tectorius var. laevis, Inocarpus , breadfruit, Tarenna, Alphitonia, Flacourtia, Diospyros, Dysoxylum, Syzygium, Ficu s, Hibiscus, Myristica.
