Plant Description:
Common herb in forest; stems erect, leaves dark glossy green above, matte pale green below; inflorescence on seperate st alk, erect, bracts red/pink; does not set seed.
Habitat:
Secondary/agroforest of Cananga, Artocarpus, Cocos, Macaranga, Hisbiscus, and Piper giving way to primary forest along ridge top of Myristica, Aglaia, Cynometra, Maesa, Campnosperma, Clinostigma, and Flagellaria.
Associated Species:
Summit of small trees and shrubs clothed bryophytes, ferns, and orchids.
