Rhizomatous herb, pseudostems 30-50 cm, lvs. distichous. Rhi zomes pale brown, yellow within, aromatic. Inflorescences ba sal, bracts grn. w yellow margins; flrs w outer tepals pale yellow, inner tepals & labellum purple. Cultivated. "Ginger"
