Island School property, east of Puhi Stream; clumping along fence with skirt of dry leaves at base.
Plant Description:
12 feet tall; stems yellow brown, sometimes with red tinge, occasionally glaucous (blue-green); leaves dark or light green; spiklets with long white hairs; common name sugarcane.
Habitat:
Landscaped lowland vegetation with naturalized grasses and assorted weeds.
