Plant Description:
Shrub 1 m tall, stems and petioles red-green, leaves white beneath, midrib red above. Inflorescence red-green in bud. Cultivated, from seed collected in Upper Limahuli Preserve (DeMotta 256). Voucher for stem fiber sample sent to Smithsonian Inst. NTBG acc. # 090441.011.
