Meitik. Collected in agroforest along roadside near power line.
Plant Description:
Tree approx. 35 ft in ht and covered with epiphytes. Trunk thick and fat covered with patches of white lichen. Leaves alternate, thick and green. Petiole short and brown with hooks. Fruits are small with yellow berries at petiole. N.V. nihn [Pohnpeian].
Ethnobotanical Notes:
Bark: Rash. Bark used to treat skin rash. Scrub bark and pound. Place over skin rash. Apply twice a day until healed.
Associated Species:
dominated by banana, Hibiscus tiliaceus and mango.
