Plant Description:
Tree, 1.5 m tall, moderately branched, corolla red, immature fruit, ca. 15 plants observed during rappel on east face of Iole peak, cuttings made, NTBG Acc. # 120562.
Habitat:
Metrosideros-Dicranopteris lowland wet shrubland with small pockets of mixed wet forest below ridgeline.
Associated Species:
Broussaisia arguta, Melicope feddei, Psychotria mariniana & P. wawrae, Kadua affinis, Antidesma platyphylla, Alyxia stellata, Syzygium sandwicensis, & Dubautia laxa.
