Assoc. plants include Cyanea sylvestris, Dubautia, Dicranopteris, Trematolobelia, Vaccinium, Cheirodendron, Cyrtandra kauaiensis, Perrottetia spp., Mariscus, Sadleria, Coprosma, Hedyotis tryblium. With Pneumatopteris, Christella, Diplazium, Athyrium and Dicranopteris.
