Plant Description:
Slender treelet 1.5 m tall, leaves stiff. Ripe fruits red-orange. Locally common in marshy shrubland. Seeds collected for propagation at NTBG.
Habitat:
Low, open marshy wet shrubland and bogland.
Associated Species:
W/ Metrosideros polymorpha, Antidesma platyphyllum, Dicranopteris linearis, heavily damaged by Hurricane Iniki and invaded by Clidemia, Melastoma, Psidium cattleianum, & Lantana camara.
