Haena Beach County Park, mauka side along Manoa Stream.
Plant Description:
Rhizomatous herb, pseudostems 2.5-3 m, lvs. distichous, gree n, aromatic. Flr. bracts & tepals porcelain white w pink-red margins, labellum yellow w red markings; frts. orange-red. Naturalized locally forming scattered clumps on stream banks.
Habitat:
Lowland secondary mesic forest.
Associated Species:
Aleurites moluccana, Syzygium cumini, Mangifera indica, Terminalia catappa, Schefflera actinophylla, with weedy understory dominated by Scindapus aureus.
Comments:
