Plant Description:
Shrub, 3 m tall, main stem brown or with reddish tinge 3 cm dia., lateral inflorescence, with flower and fruit, occasional to uncommon.
Habitat:
Riparian vegetation with moderate to steep slopes 70-80% cover.
Associated Species:
W/ canopy dominated by Metrosideros, 8-12 m, or Aleurites, 8-10 m with abundant understory of Psidium guajava, w/ Pisonia umbellifera, Ilex, Psychotria mariniana, Kadua affinis, steeper open slopes with Dicranopteris & Diplopterygium, forest understory ferns of Microlepia & Sphenomeris.
