Aquatic herb. Of Marquesan origin. Height 1+ m. "Red flower". Petioles slightly reddish. Tuber 21 in. long 8 in di. Leaves +9 in. wide, blade 2 ft long. "Tao moni".
Ethnobotanical Notes:
Cook slowly one or two hours in water, white flesh when cooked.
