Kawai'iki, on Kaluakaulu Ridge.
Plant Description:
Trees on ridge, phyllodes glaucous, more on one side than another. Phyllodes w/ swollen yellow bases. Bark white w/ orange moss. Pods curling, immature green, mature red-brn w/ seeds rattling. Some pods w/ insects holes. Flw white puffballs w/ yellow pollen.
Habitat:
Acacia koa-Metrosideros polymorpha Mixed Mesic Forest.

W/Alyxia, Perrottetia sandwicensis, Dodonea, Bidens, Psychotria mariniana, Scaevola procera, Melicope barbigera, Melicope feddei, Melicope anisata, Antidesma platyphylla, Bobea brevipes, Xylosma hawaiiense, Cryptocarya mannii.
