Plant Description:
Fern to 3 m, vine on roots; sori brown. N.V. Kiteu [Pohnpeian].
Ethnobotanical Notes:
young leaves: Styptic. similar wounds to MB 4187 - konok. Chew young leaf and put as poultice on cuts. Pohnpeians believe that medicine that is chewed is more effective than when pounded.
Burns. Chew young leaf and blow on burn - air and aroma of leaf. Pieces of leaf and air comes out when you 'blow' (spit?) on wound. One of best medicine for burn, especially with painful, swollen burn.
