Plant Description:
Shrub w/ arching branches to 4 m tall; leaves dk glossy green above; flowers w/ green ovary & calyx, old corollas blackish; ripe fruits orange turning black, often hollowed out by birds; seeds white in juicy orange pulp. Voucher for wood anatomy, DNA (Stem to Sherwin Carlquist, Santa Barbara BG). NTBG acc.#810348.001
