Road from Sto. Domingo de Los Colorados to Esmeraldas, 2 km East of El Rosario; along roadside at edge of field.
Plant Description:
Erect herb to eight ft.; fronds dark green above with paler glossy lateral veins, below glossy grey-green below with whitish-green midrib; upper petiole with white waxy bloom especially on younger leaves; inflorescence erect, lowest bract dark green along keel to tip (which occasionally has leaf-like appendage), yellow at base with rose overlay, becoming yellow-green and then finally dark green along margin; upper bracts with dark pinkish-red face and whitish to whitish-green keel; inside of bracts dull orange with dark green margin; floral bracts pale yellow, flowers white at base with dark green apex.

Specimen consists of two sheets (058882 & 058883).
