32 km from Coca on Coca to Lago Agrio road.
Plant Description:
Erect herb to 12 ft.; fronds dark glossy green with pale green midrib, below paler, glaucous with yellow-green midrib inflorescence whorled, pendant, peduncle green becoming dark 1st bract; rachis dark red to scarlet; bracts scarlet at base, becoming dark red towards apex, margin slightly greenish-yellow; floral bracts scarlet-yellow with pale greenish apex; corolla dark yellow; pedicel whitish with faint pink tinge; immature fruit whitish, ripening dark blue.
Habitat:
Secondary vegetation along roadside.
