Mendez-Morona road, 12.9 km from Mendez; at edge of forest along road.
Plant Description:
Fronds dark dull green above with glossy raised lateral veins and whitish-green midvein, below glossy grey-green with darkergreen lateral veins; inflorescence erect; peduncle green with maroon speckles, lowest bract with green keel extending to leaf-like appendage, face scarlet with narrow dark maroon band, then narrow green band with clear margin; upper bracts bright yellowish along keel with scarlet face and margin of narrow black then dark green bands; inside of bracts yellow; flower white at base with dark green apex.
