Plant Description:
3 to 10 ft tall. Few small shrubs and one 10 tall shrub. Leaves dull green below w/ slight pubescence, top of leaves slightly scratchy. Peduncle is purple, calyx green, flower orange w/ sweet taste. NTBG acc. #060983
Habitat:
Diospyros – Grevilla mixed mesic forest.
Associated Species:
W/ Metrosideros polymorpha, Diospyros hillebrandi, Dodonea viscosa, Leptecophylla tameiameiae, Eragrostis variabilis, Alyxia oliviformis, Psydrax odorata, Doodia kunthiana,, Carex sp., Pleomele, Antidesma, Aleurites.
