Plant Description:
Fruits oblong, lumpy, asymmetrical. Dark, green, pebbly with hard raised or pyramidal sections flattened on top. Yellow flesh with seeds. Leaves entire on older branches. Leaves on young branches are shallowly dissected with 1-3 pairs of lobes on upper 1/2. Soft, smooth blade with green-yellow veins. Many appressed reddish hairs lower veins. Very large tree. Ethnobotanical Notes:
Ethnobotany: Informant: Loves Remit, Losap Municipal Office. Mei chocho is a type of seeded breadfruit. Meias. It is very common in the atolls, along with Mei koeng. It grows to a very large stature and trunk size, and is used to make canoes. It doesn't reach as massive a size when grown in the lagoon islands.
