Plant Description:
Nest fern epiphytic on boulder, fronds forming large humus-collecting "nest", costa rounded above. Common, indigenous. Samoan name: lau papa.
Habitat:
Coastal strand forest; on coral sand and boulders. In shade of large trees.
Associated Species:
with Hernandia nymphaeifolia, Thespesia populnea, Pandanus tectorius, Tournefortia argentea, Morinda, mixed with plantings of Cocos, Artocarpus & Musa, understory of Vigna, Phymatosorus, Tacca, Epipremnum, Zingiber.
