Plant Description:
shrub, 70 cm tall, single plant observed and pulled
Habitat:
Cenchrus ciliaris grassland
Associated Species:
with relic native shrubs of Sida fallax, along with a few uncommon relics of Tribulus cystoïdes, Waltheria indica, Abutilon incanum, and Boerhavia repens
Comments:
Lanai, Poopoo, south-central coast, teardrop shaped islet just offshore and west of Huawai Bay, narrow on north end broadening on south, basaltic substrate of boulders and soil, approximately 20 m elev., 40 m × 40 m marine-bench with tide-pools on south, top of islet is a non-native Cenchrus ciliaris grassland with relic native shrubs of Sida fallax, along with a few uncommon relics of Tribulus cystoïdes, Waltheria indica, Abutilon incanum, and Boerhavia repens, other non-native associates include Portulaca oleracea, Merremia aegyptia, Cenchrus echinatus, Chloris virgata, Conyza bonariensis, and Lantana camara, ca. seven pair of wedge tailed shearwaters observed pairing off in burrows on upper western slope, ca. 40 additional burrows observed, easy access to top from both the southwest and northwest corners of islet.
