Locality:
National Tropical Botanical Garden, Lawai Valley. Bamboo Bridge crossover, on E side of valley, elev. ca. 25-30 m.
Plant Description:
Tree 8-10 m with banyan habit, 2 trunks 40 & 60 cm diam., aerial roots. Leaves glossy dark green above. Fruits pink. Naturalized throughout Lawai Valley. Leaf galls caused by Agaonideae wasps (Camarothorax sp. Det. Dean Jamieson).
Habitat:
In secondary vegetation.
Associated Species:
Leucaena leucocephala and Syzygium cuminii.
