Plant Description:
A tree about 6 m. Tree trunk is thin with whitish green patches. Leaf uppers dark green, lowers are light green. Leaves grow alternate. Ripe fruit spiky and light green; bladder shape. Unripe fruit 3 sided like a spinning toy. Unripe fruit small like size of lime; light green. N. V. Sei [Pohnpeian].
Ethnobotanical Notes:
fruit Alcohol. Fruits used alcohol drink (human and birds). Pick ripe fruits and place in a bucket until juice comes out. Save the liquid in a bottle for one week and after a week the drink can be used as a liquor.
Habitat:
Collected in agroforest near participants house. Dominates include breadfruit, banana, betelnut. Tree is on shaded slopes and a benjo is below. Soil is loose and black rocks are exposed.
