Plant Description:
No fruits. Rough-skinned, seedless cultivar. Fruits very similar to Errud and often indistinguishable. Leaves symmetrical, elongate, narrow. Deeply dissected, almost to midrib with 4-5 pairs of widely separated, narrow lobes. More widely sepapated than Dr 564. Margins slightly undulate. Dull green, flexible blade with green veins. Many long white hairs on upper veins. Underneath only slight rough. Tree-20 cm diameter, 7m.

Ethnobotanical Notes:
Name means 'sprinkled with ash'; fruit is best prepared by roasting in a fire. Informant: Naito Soalodaob. Seedless breadfruit cultivars (Midolab, Meriaur, Ebechab, Errud) are known as Meduu. Fruits are prepared by peeling, slicing, and boiling. Can be mixed with coconut milk. Slices can also be fried. Whole fruits are barbecued (roasted) in a fire. Today, few Palauans, especially children, eat breadfruit or other traditional staple foods such as taro or tapioca. Imported starches such as rice, bread, and cereal are preferred. Wood of Meduu or Ebiei is used for house construction and formerly canoes.
