Collected on ridge above Yemilil Stream on inland path to Walung from Utwa.
Plant Description:
No fruits or male inflorescences. Leaves entire with slight lobing on upper 1/3rd. Tip acute, not rounded like Mei tehid. This is the same as Maopo. Dark, glossy, flexible blade with yellow veins. Long white hairs on upper veins. Underside rough with dense, short hairs on blade. Sticks to clothing. Tree 10 m.

Ethnobotanical Notes:
This is a widely grown cultivar throughout Kosrae. Also known as Maopo in Samoa and Tonga. Rare autia in Society Islands, Mei aukape in Marquesas, Uto lolo in Fiji.
