Locality:
Mondrain Nature Reserve on Vacoas Ridges (west edge of central plateau).
Plant Description:
Dioecious tree 3 m tall, leaves dark glossy green above. Male flowers ramiflorous on main branches, externally green, stamens purple, with odor of fermenting fruit. Locally frequent, endemic. Most alien species hand- weeded from area by Mr. Gabriel D'Argent.
Habitat:
Primary evergreen moist forest.
Associated Species:
Myrtaceae, Sapotaceae, and Ebenaceae dominant.
