Plant Description:
Large tree ca. 25 m tall. Flowers with (4-)5(-6) creamy yellow to greenish, turning pink when old, sweet smelling (like baby aspirin); 10 filaments fused into a column with 10 free anthers attached to apex; anthers yellow, turning dark brown; stigma darker green than rest of flower, discoid with a central, apical dimple (=napifofrm). Wild collected on Naula-Elahera Road in Sri Lanka by Scott Lucas (#896). "Indian redood, bastard cedar, chickrassy". NTBG acc.#8210087001
