Locality:
Waianae Mountains, west branch of East Makaleha Valley.
Plant Description:
Dense shrubs 2-4 m x 4-10 m, erect with few wandlike spreading branches; leaves green above and pale green below. Calyx pansy purple at the base shading to violet carmine, except for the green margins of the lobes. Specimens from several plants.
Habitat:
Open forest on dry ridge east of the valley.
Associated Species:
Dodonaea eriocarpa, Reynoldsia, Diospyros.
