Locality:
Kaupulehu Preserve, along Mamalahoa Highway (190) at 12 miles NE of Kailua Kona (by 28 mile marker). Elev. 650-660 m.
Plant Description:
Treelet 1.5 m tall, stems erect, corolla orange yellow. Common locally.
Habitat:
Remnant of dry forest.
Associated Species:
Diospyros sandwicensis dominant, also Colubrina, Canthium, Nototrichium, etc. with understory of introduced Pennisetum setaceum, over recent (1801) a'a lava flow.
