Leggy shrub of up to 12 ft. Leaves dark, mat green above, dull, pale green below with dark, glossy green veins; flowers pendant, the petals reflexed upward; petals dark red at base, variegated white and red at apex; column pink, filaments slightly darker at the base, pink below the anthers; styles red.
