Waianae, just west of the Power Plant, Tracks Beach.
Plant Description:
Shrub 3 ft. Yellow flowers, capsules green w/ calyx entire, bracts foliaceous, all with small black spots. Capsules 3-parted, turning brown and splitting, seed densely covered white to orange brown fuzz. Leaves and bracts grey-green. 7 plants in area, more along highway.

Coastal dry mixed community
