Road from Airai and Aimeliik to Melekeok, 18.8 miles from beginning of unpaved road.
Plant Description:
Small tree 4 m tall. Leaves with veins sunken above. Corolla pale violet, lip darker violet. Ripe fruits purple-black, 7-8 mm in diam. Flowers sweetly fragrant (3 m). Voucher for seed collection, NTBG 980195.
Habitat:
Primary evergreen wet forest.
Associated Species:
Alphitonia, Calophyllum, Rhus taitensis, Gmelina , Symplocos, Wikstroemia, Commersonia, Campnospermum, over lateritic soil.
