Anakooma river valley just ESE of Oave peak.
Plant Description:
Canopy tree reaching 20 m x 1 m dbh, bark brown, warty. Leaves with green petiole and blade, midrib pale green. Fallen fruit with fleshy dark pink cup completely enclosing single black, ribbed beaked seed.Regenerating abundantly. Localized population along stream, c. 340-370 m.
Habitat:
Secondary wet forest along stream.
Associated Species:
Inocarpus fagifer dominant, also Pandanus, Hernandia nukuhivensis, Cocos, Hibiscus tiliaceus, Musa, Cyclophyllum, Glochidion and Mangifera with understory of ferns and Coffea arabica.
