Plant Description:
shrub, 1 m tall, thickly branched, stems green, petiole yellow-green, leaves glossy dark green or with purple tinge, costa yellow-green, corolla white, with old seed capsules, collected on top of Haupu in narrow drainage, also 400-500 plants on northern cliffs
Habitat:
open shrubland/herbland with sparse tree cover
Associated Species:
W/ Metrosideros polymorpha; with Dicranopteris linearis, Cibotium glaucum, Sadleria pallida along with groupings of native trees such as Hedyotis terminalis; Psychotria mariniana; Antidesma platyphyllum var. hillebrandii; Bobea brevipes; Xylosma hawaiiense; Cheirodendron fauriei; Melicope feddei; and Tetraplasandra spp.
