Above Hakahetau valley-around Poumaka in lower wet forest of Freycinetia-Crossostylis.
Plant Description:
tree, 15m tall, highly branched; leaves simple, entire, dark green, smooth and glossy on top with underneath light-green, leaf tip acuminate; flowers up to 9cm long, creamy-white to orange with a nice fragrance; fruits, berry, orange-red.
Associated Species:
Crossostylis biflora, Glochidion marchionicum, Metrosideros collina, Weinmannia sp., Freycinetia sp., Angiopteris evecta, Nephrolepis sp., Asplenium nidus, and Trichomanes sp.
