Tree, herbaceous to 4 m, dbh 8 cm, flowers white, fragrant, fruits green. N.V. kanniapo [Pohnpeian]
Ethnobotanical Notes:
leaves Asthma. Use for Asthma type of cough. Take 3 leaves, chop. put in pot of water and boil the water until it turns green. Drink it at room temperature or when warm. Take 3-4 cups/day--the more you drink, the faster the cough goes away.
stems Toy. Petioles used to make small pea shooters that children use.
