Shrub, stem 4 cm in diameter, 2 m tall, flowers purple. N.V. dihng toantoal [Pohnpeian].
Ethnobotanical Notes:
young shoots: Analgesic. To cure man's sickness (soumwahu en ohl), which can be back pain, muscle ache, joint pain, and headache. This condition can be caused by lifting heavy objects. Take four shoots of young leaves and pound, wrap in a piece of cloth, squeeze in ½ gallon of water. Drink. Take this amount of medicine everyday for four to eight days.
