Locality:
Kalalau Valley, Upper reaches of stream in East side of Valley. On ridge above Eastern most main stream, on ledge at the top of ridge and before lateral cliff endge goat trail to Pterlayxia falls.
Plant Description:
6 ft tall. Several plants in area. Branches white w/ wavy growth and moss. Fruit w/ brown tomentose, glaucous. Lvs dull green w/ white stringose hairs below.
Habitat:
Diverse mesic forest.
Associated Species:
Canopy with Metrosideros polymorpha, Pouteria sandwicensis, Psydrax, Psychotria mariniana, Rauvolfia sandwicensis, Pleomele aurea, Diospyros, Cryptocaria, Nestigis, Pritchardia minor, Antidesma. Understory with Christella dentata, Erigeron, Kalanchoe pinnata and Lantana camara.
