Plant Description:
Tree to 10 m. dbh 70 cm, flowers yellow. N.V. keleu [Pohnpeian]
Ethnobotanical Notes:
bark Fuelstuff. Bark strips to tie wood while collecting firewood.
flowers Diarrhea. Medicine for diarrhea. Take 3 flowers in pot of water and boil till water turns yellow. Drink two cups daily, one in morning and one in evening for three days or until symptoms disappear.
leaves Bruises. Medicine for a black eye. Use small leaves from apex of stem, pound and put in cloth. Put cloth on the eye to reduce swelling. Use 2x daily, morning and evening until gone.
stem Canoes. Stem once used to make support ribs of voyaging canoes.
