Plant Description:
1 m tall shrub, 1.5 m wide x 2 m long, with thickly interwov en branches; vigorous condition; 4 brown fruit found on sing le peduncle; single black seed in each fruit; stems grey-bro wn; leaves coriacious, dark green above, pale green below; collected mid-slope; east aspect; single plant seen.
Habitat:
Mixed native coastal shrubland.
Associated Species:
With Portulaca molo., P. Vil., Senna gaud., Chamaesyce cel. var. amp., Cham. sp., Mariscus sp., Capparis, Lipochaeta lavarum, Bide ns mauiensis, Sida fallax, Doryopteris decipiens, Panicum torridum, P. fauriei var. latius, Eragrostis atropiodes, Ipomoea tuboides. Indications of Bulwers Petrel and wedgetail shearwater nesting sites.
