Plant Description:
Tree, 4 m tall, occasional. Note: Wet forest trees appear to be similar to outer island D. sandwicensis yet differ significantly from Kauai mesic to dry forest representatives in leaf, fruit, and habit, further studies are recommended.
Habitat:
Riparian vegetation within hanging valley with patches of Metrosideros lowland wet forest
Associated Species:
w/ Antidesma platyphylla, Perrottetia sandwicensis, Dubautia knudsenii, Psychotria hexandra, Kadua tryblium, Bobea elatior, Polyscias oahuensis, Coprosma kauensis, Cyanea recta, C. fissa, Platydesma rostrata, Labordia tinifolia, Cyclosorus wailele, Cyclosorus sandwicensis, Phyllostegia renovans, Bidens forbesii.
