Friday, October 9

Because of the extraordinary generosity of supporters like you, I am grateful and happy to share that our gardens on Kauaʻi are making remarkable recoveries following Hurricane Lowell.

Our amazing staff have undertaken massive cleanup efforts, rescued vulnerable plants, repaired damaged facilities, and brought the gardens back to life. This is in so many ways thanks to you and our community of supporters who believe in our mission and believe in us. Thank you for helping us raise over $160,000 for our recovery.

“The impressive pace of recovery is made possible by a dedicated staff and supporter-funded investment in the resilience of NTBG. Within days, we completed triaging damage to our living collections: propping up trunks, collecting cuttings, and other efforts to save our invaluable plants; a commendable team effort! Nearly all core paths in the gardens have been made safe for staff and visitors. We look forward to your next visit to the gardens!”- Tobias Koehler, Director of Lāwaʻi Gardens

“We are so grateful for your support as Limahuli and our Hāʻena community recover from Hurricane Lowell. The resilience of this place is testament to the decades and generations of investment in the biocultural restoration of our valley. From mountain to coast, the integrity of our forests, health of our stream, ingenuity of our ancestors, and tireless work of our staff dampened the storm’s impacts and are helping us heal.” – Lei Wann, Director of Limahuli Garden & Preserve

We are thrilled to welcome our community and visitors back to NTBG as we reach several exciting milestones:
