The Kampong
Join us at The Kampong for a creative workshop where you can upcycle your favorite garments using the cyanotype printing technique. Celebrate nature’s beauty as you create tropical designs inspired by the lush surroundings of The Kampong Gardens. In this workshop, you’ll learn the cyanotype printing process, one of the earliest photographic printing techniques. We will create unique prints on fabric using this unique emulsion that transforms into a deep blue when exposed to sunlight. You’ll gather leaves from The Kampong’s tropical collections to craft one-of-a-kind, nature-inspired patterns on your clothing.
This workshop is open to participants aged 16 and older. All necessary materials for printing, including a bandana, will be provided. You’re also welcome to bring up to two garments to print on. Please ensure these items are made of at least 80% natural fibers, such as cotton or linen. For the best results, choose light-colored items and avoid dark blue or black fabrics. Spaces are limited, so reserve your spot today and join us in embracing creativity, sustainability, and a love for nature!
Rates are $40 for NTBG members, $50 for non-members
