Nature is a gifted source of color. By observing our natural surroundings and drawing inspiration from past traditions, we can obtain colors from various natural sources. In this workshop, we invite you to explore The Kampong Gardens from a botanist-colorist perspective and immerse yourself in a morning of natural dyeing. Participants will have the opportunity to work with two natural dyes from plants that are part of the garden’s living collections: achiote and turmeric. During the workshop, we will explore color and practice some shibori techniques for fabric dyeing.
