Loulu are Hawaiʻi’s only native palms. They are ecologically and culturally vital, serving as a primary resource for practices like hale construction and weaving. Today, these iconic plants face are threatened by coconut rhinoceros beetle — but you can make a difference! Join us for a day of celebration for loulu in McBryde Garden and connect with this cherished plant through activities, presentations, and guided walks! Take home your very own and and help us care for loulu for generations to come.
