Talk story with Maori Weavers

Saturday, June 24 | 5 pm – 6:30 pm

Kauaʻi Community College
Fine Arts Auditorium

Weaving traditions throughout Polynesia thread generations of people, plants, and places. Please join us for an evening of talk story with master Maori weavers and apprentices as they share about their journeys to perpetuate their practice and relationships with the plants of our interconnected islands. The event will include a showcase of weavings, a panel discussion, and meet-and-greet. RSVPs are required and space is limited.

Are you an NTBG member? Join us early for a private reception with the weavers at 4 pm with refreshments provided by Keoki’s Paradise.

Through the Maʻawe Mentorship Program led by Maile Andrade, these practitioners are spending time in Hawaiʻi to deepen ties and knowledge among our weaving communities.
